Hamilton is a picturesque and historic town with over 30 historic buildings and sites; walking paths exist which give you a closer look at the town. You will receive a copy of the Hamilton Historical Society brochure in your cottage which provides an in-depth look at the township, its history and its buildings.
If travelling by car, the following areas are also of interest:
- 10 minute drive – to Lake Meadowbank for a good fishing spot as well as a great view.
- 30 minute radius – Bushy Park; Bothwell; Ellendale; New Norfolk; Salmon Ponds; Pontville; Mt Field National Park.
- 60 minute radius – Hobart (Hobart airport 1hr 15min); Kempton; Oatlands; Styx Valley.
- 90 minute radius – Hounville; Lake St Clair National Park (southern area); Mt Wellington summit; Richmond; Ross; The Great Lake.
